KOLNECT is a an expat meet up in Cologne that goes beyond networking: Join this new international group if you’d like to meet like-minded people, build long term relationships and understand German culture a little better. In moderated group sessions you’ll work out your personal way of creating the expat life you want, no matter if you have been here for a week or several years. The sessions wil be held in different locations across the city so you’ll also get to know different parts of Cologne.

Especially in times of Covid-19, meeting (new) people has become increasingly tricky. Can you identify with the statements above and are you based in/around Cologne? Then we would love to invite you to join the very first Kolnect series. In this series of intercultural meet ups, we are looking to address all of the above concerns and more.

What do these sessions look like?
Each session lasts about 2-3 hours and we will ensure to provide food and drink options to keep both mind and body happy throughout. After a brief warm up, we will run a moderated session on one of the topics selected by the group. Exercises, real life examples and the exchange with other expats will provide you with a bunch of ideas that you can start implementing yourself. Note: We'll make sure all the necessary safety measures in terms of Covid-19 are respected for our face to face sessions to make sure that you are comfortable with our group at all times. We will combine enjoying the beautiful and cool spots of Cologne while talking about the
following topics and how they support you in creating the expat life you want.

What is our motivation to run Kolnect?
You are an expat. That means you have already left your commfort zone, so let's explore what awaits you in the next zone: the learning zone. By sharing our experience and best practices to make the most of an expat experience, we hope to support you on your journey. We have realized for ourselves that living abroad, while being quite a challenge at times, is also a great way to get to know yourself better. And the better we know ourselves, the more we can align our lives and our decisions with who we are and what is important to us. We also believe that a good support system is vital to managing live abroad. We hope that the Kolnect community creates this sense of belonging through a good exchange and fun evenings with like-minded people. Feeling comfortable in your new home is another important pillar of a fulfilled expat life. Therefore we'll do our best to show you a Cologne that you can embrace - a beautiful, fun, charismatic city. Our goal for the Kolnect Series are that you:
